Our Group celebrated 100 years of scouting in Merton Park with a wonderful fair in the Glebe Field on 3 July 2011.
The event attracted many past and present scouts, and there were lots of free activities for beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers and their parents. Local MPs Stephen Hammond and Siobhain McDonagh attended, together with the Mayor of Merton, Councillor Gilli Lewis-Lavender.
John Hayward, the Vicar of St Mary the Virgin, and a great supporter of our scout group opened the fair, which was blessed with the weather.
The County and District Commissioners (Ian Newbery and Joe Rogerson) also joined us to hand out long-service awards for our venerable members who have contributed to scouting for many many years. For photos of the day, click on the weblinks.
